Why

Hiya. Why have I created this Bob Loblaw's Law Blog... truth be told, it was because I wanted to have the URL. But I'm sure all of you already knew that. Now, we can move onto the big questions:

Why did Devendra Banhart cut his hair?!



Now for those of you who don't know who Devendra Banhart is, these next few pictures should sum him up. (Also, the last link was to an interview, the following LINK is to music.)


He is a musician, playing guitar. Ha also has a jewelry making room in his house.


He dresses up alot.


This is typical of photos and concerts of him. Erika hates this cause you can see his "peubies" but that's him!

He is really incredible. Other-worldly. He calls his music Naturalismo, but most just say he's the father and / or king of the freak-folk movement.

He looks up to and loves artists like Vashti Bunyan, Vetiver, Joanna Newsom and The Espers.


Also, he has a very unique and distinguishable beard. As well as long long hair. both as trademark as he would dare to get to a look.

He's a very attractive man.


Now, here, he's shaved his beard off...


It still looks okay. he's still happy and fun. Still has his long hair. But Shy did he cut his beard off? he wrote several songs regarding or mentioning his beard and hair.


And HERE he is now, all short hair and small beard looking. he looks like a Jonas Brother. Sad. Devendra, where did your integrity go? It died with your beard and hair sir.



And NOW he looks like he's taking an Emo Myspace picture. and like he's the singer for AFI.


Although, he is still very attractive and his music is stil wonderful, why did he do it? It really makes me beg the question: did he cut it off so he could appeal to a wider audience, make more money, sign to a major label and in essence, sell out, or did he just get really itchy and hot. You decide.
